Critters in the kale.  Found this little guy (critter on the right) in the kale bed.  How he got there, I do not know.  The grow unit has been operating indoors and has had only sterile media, nutrient solution and seedlings germinated in coir as inputs.  Earth worms decompose dead matter and enrich the soil - welcome in any garden, even an indoor hydroponic garden.

This retired 40' insulated shipping container, with its stainless steel walls and aluminum floor will be upcycled into a hydroponic grow chamber.   Using  available interior vertical space, the 250 sq. ft. floor area will support a system that will grow the equivalent of 1250 sq. ft. of fresh leafy greens and herbs all winter - that's a 500% increase in space efficiency.  The LED lighting system will consume under 10KW when turned on.
