Today I compared my organic basil growing in my outdoor garden to a cloned cutting from the same plant, but grown in the Yhcrana Orbital micro-ecosystem unit. I cut 55mm down from the growing tip from both plants to compare them. Not only was the Yhcrana Orbital grown plant much bushier, it had a stem about twice the diameter of the outside soil grown version. Upon weighing them, the Yhcrana Orbital sample was 10.19g and the outside soil grown was 2.64g. Wow! That is nearly a 4 fold increase in mass.

Today I spent some time talking to some community leaders at Saint Marie among the Hurons, "We Are The Villagers" local charity, and the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre about my vision to build a greenhouse to showcase sustainable agriculture techniques such as permaculture and aquaponics. The goal is to have the kids from our local charity, "We Are The Villagers", get involved in community spirit building, esteem building, healthy food education, summer camps, and hands on skill development in construction, ecology, and in high tech sustainable agricultural systems. They would experience the importance of becoming lifelong stewards of the earth through education and research projects while developing skills in social interaction and cooperation.
